Sheen

How much shine?

Sheen is how much light the finish reflects. It does not change durability, only the look. Lower sheens hide everyday scratches and dust better.

Rawultra matteLooks like bare, unfinished wood (Bona Traffic HD RAW). Hides scratches and dust best.
Extra mattevery low shineSoft, natural look with almost no shine.
Satinlow shineA gentle glow. Classic, forgiving and easy to live with.
Semi-glossmedium shineNoticeable reflection. Shows the grain and color richly.
Glosshigh shineMirror-like and formal. Shows scratches and dust the most.

Sheen tiles are an illustration on the same wood sample. We apply a test area so you can see the real sheen in your own light. Product names are trademarks of Bona AB and LOBA GmbH.

FAQ

Questions about sanding & refinishing.

How many times can a floor be refinished?

Solid 3/4" hardwood can usually be sanded many times over its life. Engineered floors depend on the thickness of the top layer; we check before quoting.

Can I stay home during refinishing?

Many families plan a few nights away while finish coats cure. We will tell you which rooms are off-limits and for how long.

Can you change the color of my floors?

Yes. Once the floor is back to bare wood we test stain samples on your actual boards so you approve the color before we finish.

How long does it take?

Most homes take three to five days from sanding to the last coat, plus cure time before furniture goes back.
