Stair Installation & Refinishing in Matthews, NC

We turn carpeted stairs in Matthews homes into solid oak treads with painted risers, and update handrails and balusters.

In many Matthews two-story homes the stairs are still carpeted while the floors are hardwood. Replacing that carpet with oak treads that match the floor is one of the biggest visual upgrades for the money. We often do it together with new hardwood upstairs.

Can you match the stairs to my hardwood floors?

Can you replace wood balusters with iron?

Yes. We can replace balusters, handrails and newel posts in the same job.

Can we use the stairs during the work?

There are times when the stairs are off-limits while stain and finish dry. We plan the schedule with you so you always have a way up and down when it matters most.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a great experience with HD Flooring. They completed both my flooring installation and staircase remodel, and I’m very pleased with how everything turned out. The staircase transformation made a big difference in the overall look of my home, and the flooring looks great as well.

The crew was professional, respectful, and did quality work. There were a few scheduling and timing issues along the way, but the finished product was worth it. I appreciate the work HD Flooring put into the project and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality flooring or staircase remodeling.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hugo and his team transformed my home. They replaced carpeted areas with new hardwoods, and refinished the old orange floors; you cannot tell which is which. It's seamless and perfect. (See third photo - the closest wood is 20+ years old, the family room is new wood. Amazing.) They also replaced the stairway railings, newel posts and spindles. It is beautiful - better than I could have imagined. He communicated with us well, they kept everything clean, his team was friendly and skilled. I cannot imagine a better experience. Highly recommend!!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hugo and his team sanded and refinished with new stain 28+ year old hardwoods, also put new hardwoods replacing carpet in the family room to match.
Replace old vinyl flooring in laundry room with LVP planks, so much better.
Installation was very professional; they worked around our work schedule and kept us informed every step of the way.
When floors were finished, we had a small concern Hugo came the same day and fixed it.
Very satisfied with the whole project, look forward to our next project.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Hugo is great. From the first time I meet him. He is very professional. He resurfaced our hardwood and added two additional room with hardwood. It turned out great. You can’t tell what was old and what is new. He just came back today (months later) and did a repair that we screwed up. He came within a few days of calling him. I wish all contractors were this good. I definitely would recommend his services!
