Is it right for your home?

Best for

  • Living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and open main floors
  • Homes you plan to keep: solid hardwood can be sanded and refinished for decades
  • Matching or extending existing oak floors (red or white oak)
  • Buyers who want real wood with a wide-plank, modern look (engineered)

Good to know

  • Wood reacts to humidity, so we meter wood and subfloor moisture before install
  • Solid hardwood is nailed down on wood subfloors; engineered can also float or glue over concrete
  • New wood needs time on site to acclimate before it goes down
  • Not the right choice for full bathrooms or laundry rooms. We will suggest LVP or tile there

FAQ

Questions about hardwood & engineered.

Solid or engineered: which is better?

Solid hardwood can be sanded many times and is ideal over wood subfloors. Engineered is more stable in changing humidity, comes in wider planks and can go over concrete. We will recommend one after seeing your home.

Can you match my existing oak floors?

Usually yes. We match species and width, weave new boards into the old ones where needed, then sand and finish everything together so it reads as one floor.

How long does a hardwood installation take?

Most rooms take a few days; a full main floor usually about a week. Site-finished floors need extra time for stain and finish coats. Your proposal includes the schedule.

Do you remove the old flooring?

Yes. Carpet, glue-down and old floor removal can be included in your proposal, along with furniture moving.
