FAQ

Questions about stairs.

Can you put hardwood on carpeted stairs?

Yes. We remove the carpet and pad, then usually install new treads and risers, because the structure under carpet is not finish-grade wood.

Can stairs match my new floor?

Yes. We match species and stain to the floor, and for LVP floors we use matching stair nose pieces.

How long does a staircase take?

Most staircases take two to four days including finishing. Stairs stay usable with care between coats on many jobs.

Do you replace railings and balusters?

We can update railings and balusters as part of the stair project. Ask during your visit.
